Researchers uncover surprise link between weird quantum phenomena

Jonathan Oppenheim, a Royal Society University Research Fellow in DAMTP, and Stephanie Wehner, of Singapore's Centre for Quantum Technologies and the National University of Singapore, recently published a Science paper in which they uncover a fundamental link between the two defining properties of quantum physics.

Their research shows how Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle sets limits on non-locality, or "action at a distance". The result provides new clues to researchers seeking to understand the foundations of quantum theory.
