SIAM UKIE 20th Annual Meeting

UNIVERSITY OF CAMBRIDGE

The 20th Annual Meeting of the UK and Republic of Ireland Section of SIAM will be hosted by the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics (DAMTP), University of Cambridge, on January 7, 2016. It will be held at the Centre for Mathematical Sciences.

The programme will start welcoming participants from 9:00 am, and finish with a 20th Anniversary Dinner held at the Dinning Hall of Magdalene College, Cambridge, from 7:00 pm. The talks start at 10:10 am and finish before 5:00 pm.

This will be an opportunity to celebrate the first 20 years of the UK and Republic of Ireland Section of SIAM and we expect it to be a special occasion. The event will feature high profile keynote and early career speakers, and poster presentations from Student Chapter representatives, as well as a 20th anniversary dinner.

STUDENTS:

As in the previous year, the Section invites every SIAM Student Chapter in the UK and Republic of Ireland to delegate a student representative to this meeting, and we offer funding support of up to £100 for the travel expenses of each of these delegates. In addition, there will be no registration fee for participating students, but all students will be encouraged to contribute a poster presentation.

20TH ANNIVERSARY DINNER:

The 20th Anniversary Dinner will be held in the Dinning Hall of Magdalene College, Cambridge on the evening of 7th January, at 7 for 7:30 pm.

MAGDALENE COLLEGE

The cost of the dinner is £45 and it includes wine and pre-dinner drinks. The number of places is limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
