Using Local Thunderbird Folders with Hermes
Your email is redirected to Hermes, but you want to have some email folders on DAMTP. Maybe for archival purposes. This document explains how to configure thunderbird for this.
- In this example we persume your local mail folders are in a folder/directory called damtp-mail.
- From within Thunderbird, select Local Folders (from the left hand list of folders). From the main windows select View settings for this account. An Account Settings window will appear.
- In the Account Name on the main panel, keep the supplied Local Folders or change it to something like "Local mail folders at damtp" - this is what thunderbird will list as the "Account Name".
- For the Local directory setting on the main panel, select Browse and find the directory/folder you wish to use, in this case damtp-mail.
- Select the button OK to save.
- Now when you expand (click on plus sign to change to minus sign and list folders) Local Folder (may be renamed) you will see the contents of the directory/folder damtp-mail. (You may need to restart thunderbird).
