Supported Email Programs in DAMTP
Anyone whose email was set up after 1 September 2005 has their email stored on Hermes. Some people whose email was set up prior to this date also have their email on Hermes. Everyone else has their email stored on the damtp system.
Regardless of which system your email is stored on you still need to access it. DAMTP provides support for the following email programs - known as MUAs
Supported Mail Programs
- Webmail: For people reading their email on Hermes use https://webmail.hermes.cam.ac.uk. If your email is stored on the damtp system use https://webmail.damtp.cam.ac.uk. Both webmails can be accessed internally and externally. They are easy to use, have comprehensive on-line help, and are recommended for new users.
- Thunderbird: Email client from the Mozilla foundation. We strongly recommend you use Thunderbird.
- pine: one does not use a mouse with pine.
- mutt: simple, vi style and highly configurable.
