Adding DAMTP Printers using Internet Explorer and Netscape

Internet Explorer
You may have a newly installed pc with no printers installed, in which case you'll need to add some. To change/add to your print list, click on the NEW printer name below. You will then be presented with a window similar to the one below (if running Windows XP and using Internet Explorer to view this page)
If you are running Windows 2000 operating system, you will see the following;
Select 'Run' if running XP or 'Open' if running 2000.
You will see a black box appear on your screen for a couple of seconds, this will then disappear. You should now check to see if the printer is installed on your pc. If it isn't, contact help@damtp.

Netscape/Mozilla/Firefox
If you are using Netscape, you'll have to save the 'cmd' file to your local disk. Firstly, (right click on the printer you want to install from the list above, select 'Save Link Target As'), then find it on your local disk and run it (double left click it). You should see a black box appear on your screen for a couple of seconds, then disappear. Check to see if the print is installed.
You can remove printers by going into your Start -> Settings -> Control Panel, then open the Printer folder and delete whatever ones you wish.
To make a printer your 'default' printer, open up the printer list, Start -> Settings -> Printers, decide which printer you want as your default. Right click this printer and choose the option 'Set as default printer' from the menu.
