How to read and print ps files
To view postscript (ps) files you need to use a program called GSview. This is bundled in with the WeTeX package. GSview can be found by either opening the WeTeX folder on the desktop or by looking in the Start Menu -> Programs -> WeTeX -> GSview 4.3. Once opened, you can then open your pc file but going to the File menu -> Open, locate your file (don't forget, if the file is on your Unix filespace, look in the N:\ drive), open it and you should see it on the screen.
The next part is to print the document. There are a number of options here that you can do. If you want to print a blank and white copy, you can print to the same network printers as you would if you were using the Unix system, pidg, cft, panda etc. If you want a colour printout on paper then you can print to spec, prism, peacock, bungle etc, again, the same as if you were on the Unix system. If on the other hand you want to print OHPs for a presentation for example, then your best option is to print to the locally attached inkjet printer next to the public pc. These Canon 450i's produce excellent printouts on OHPs, they were bought just for this purpose.
BEFORE sending the job to inkjet, turn on the printer (left hand button) and load with OHPs (please note the WHITE BAND ON THE OHPs GOES TO THE BOTTOM, ROUGH SIDE UPPERMOST (FACING YOU); load into the feeder tray at the back of the printer).
To print out your ps file, from the File menu choose print. A new window will appear.

On this window you can choose what printer to print to, how many copies and what pages to print. NOTE: To print PS files in colour using GSView, make sure you change the printer 'Windows GDI Printer' Settings to specify 'Full Colour'. Failing to do this will result in a black and white printout, the default setting for GSView.

Ok'ing the dialogue boxes will send your job to the printer, your postscript should now print out.
