Step by Step Guide to Scanning a Picture

(simple method for photos only. with no control over resolution)

  1. Using a hpscanjet scanner, lift the scanner's lid and place your picture on the glass, face down, against the top right-hand corner.
  2. Double-click the "HP Director" icon on the desktop; select "scan picture":

  4. Then select "original from glass":

    and click ok.
  5. "hpscanning" will then preview your picture.
  6. Click Accept if you are happy with this picture, with no changes required. The picture will then be scanned.

  7. If you only want part of the scanned picture, move the handles

    on the edge of the preview until you are happy with the cropped preview.
  8. It will automatically be saved in the "scanned files" directory in C:\ as a .jpg file.

  10. Don't forget to take the original picture from the scanner when you have finished.
