Listing Files Modified or Created on a Particular Day

How to use ls to list just those files modified or created on a particular day.

using something like:

  ls --full-time -l

generates the output in a fixed (sane ISO) date format which can be grep'd easily enough. e.g.

  ls --full-time -l | egrep '2005-01-1[345]'

will list any files modified on the 13th 14th or 15th of january. One can clearly use other patterns to select particular date ranges etc.
