Unsupported Programs

If a program is marked as unsupported, it means that the program is installed, but in general the damtp computer officers do not have knowledge of the workings of the program and cannot help you with your queries.

The damtp computer officers do not have the resources to learn every editor, every mail program, every webbrowser, every calender and so on, and decisions have to be made which programs to support. Sometimes when a new program is chosen to be supported, a program which was supported, moves to being unsupported.

Most programs either have a built in manual or an official website which you could look for with a search engine.

The version of the program may not be the most up to date. Often the program will only be updated when security updates get released for it.
