Streaming Media Service for Video and Audio Upload

The Streaming Media Service is available for upload of video/audio and conversion into a user-selected set of formats suitable for streaming or downloading.

Video Upload to the SMS (Streaming Media Service)

VOB files (often used for DVDs) are a maximum of 1GB in size so to create one file on the DAMTP UNIX system:

cat video_01.VOB video_02.VOB video_03.VOB > video_all.VOB

If the upload of the VOB file does not work (to the SMS) then try a lossless conversion from VOB (typical DVD format) to mpeg2 for upload to SMS:

ffmpeg -i ./andrew_chamblin_2009.VOB -vcodec copy -acodec copy andrew_chamblin_2009.mpg
