Webpages
Most people in DAMTP have two webpages
- Their formal /people page
- Their less formal /user page
When you leave and your account is in its grace period, your /user page continues to be availabe for you to edit. Your /people page is no longer linked in. You can only edit your /people for as long as you have your Raven account.
When your account is disabled both pages continue to be visible on the internet. Please try to update them before you leave.
When your account is archived your /user page is also archived and no longer visible on the internet. Your /people page continues to be visible but not linked in. Please don't rely on this staying that way in the future.
Webpage Redirection
We offer a webpage redirection service. If you chose to avail of this whenever someone types in your old address they are redirected to your new address.
There are different types of redirection:
- The first is to redirect everything to one URL - option A.
- http://www.damtp.cam.ac.uk/user/CRSID -> http://newurl/user/
- http://www.damtp.cam.ac.uk/user/CRSID/FileA -> http://newurl/user/
- http://www.damtp.cam.ac.uk/user/CRSID/DirB/FileA -> http://newurl/user/
- the second is to keep the structure of your webpages in the redirection - option B.
- http://www.damtp.cam.ac.uk/user/CRSID -> http://newurl/user/
- http://www.damtp.cam.ac.uk/user/CRSID/FileA -> http://newurl/user/FileA
- http://www.damtp.cam.ac.uk/user/CRSID/DirB/FileA -> http://newurl/user/DirB/FileA
