1667) 21/12/11 LibreOffice 3.4.4 on Linux
SUMMARY: LibreOffice 3.4.4 is now available for testing on the Linux systems.
A newer minor bugfix release of LibreOffice has been installed that for testing. LibreOffice 3.4.4 was released on 9th November. We had planned to install it for testing much earlier. Apologies for the delay.
At the moment you can run it from a terminal as either:
- libreoffice344
- libreoffice-test
It will replace LibreOffice 3.4.3 in a week or two (ie in early January) unless any serious bugs are found and reported.
We have tested it with a few .doc, .xls etc files and it seems to open them at least as well as the previous version version did.
It has the same features as the 3.4.3 version announced in news item 1630, with the following bug fixes:
- http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Releases/3.4.4_info_about_fixes
The current release-plan for LibreOffice (http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleasePlan/3.4#3.4.5_release) suggests that 3.4.5 will be probably released in early January and we hope to have that available for testing within a week of that release.
Complaints etc to jp107@damtp.cam.ac.uk as usual.
