SUMMARY: Linux computers will be rebooting in the early hours of Wednesday 30th January to apply security updates. Please save your work before you go home on Tuesday. Between 8:00am and 9:00am the servers running the laptop network and Windows 7 network drives will also be rebooted for security updates, so Windows network drives and the laptop network will be unavailable for a few minutes while this happens.

DETAILS: In the early hours of Wednesday 30th January there is a scheduled system update. This includes kernel updates so systems will automatically reboot to apply these updates.

Between 8:00am and 9:00am servers will also be restarted. This will include the server that controls the laptop network. For a few minutes while this server is rebooted the wired and wireless eduroam, Lapwing, and unencrypted.maths.cam.ac.uk services will be unavailable.

The server which provides network drives to Windows 7 computers will also be rebooted. This means that for a few minutes while this happens Windows network drives will not be available.
