Visitor Computing

Wireless access

Most areas of CMS now have wireless (WiFi) access. If you have access to eduroam please use that. Otherwise CMS reception or your host or group or pavilion secretary can give you a ticket for the wireless network.

Ethernet access for laptop

If you are staying here for a few days, you may prefer to use an ethernet connection for your laptop. Most offices have at least one network port that connects to this network. Look for a sticker stating that the port is connected to the laptop network. eduroam also works on this network. We call it wired eduroam.

If you don't have eduroam and can't connect, contact your group / pavilion secretary asking for a local CMS laptop account.

No laptop or similiar device

If you are an official academic visitor, your group / pavilion secretary can give you visitor account access to the research network. You or your host need to contact them.

Long visits

If you will be in DAMTP for over six months please contact your group secretary.
