Ordered Dithering of Image
Ordered Dithering of Image
This option is included partly for its novelty value. The purpose behind
dithering is to give the appearance of a continuous gradation of intensity
and/or colour when only a limited range of intensities/colours are infact
available. This option reduces a full coloured image to one containing
only red, green, blue, black and white. Clearly this results in a
reduction in the image quality and resolution. The resulting image is
intended to be viewed with output look up table 2, although interesting
effects may be produced using different tables.
Dither which buffer ?
Specify the buffer to be processed. The contents of the buffer are
not altered by the process. The selected buffer is made the current output
buffer before proceeding to the next prompt.
Place dithered image where ?
This entry specifies the buffer into which the dithered image is to be
placed. This buffer is then made the current output buffer before starting
the dithering process. The buffer may be the same as the source buffer.
The output look up table is switched to table 2, the table for which the
dithering routine is designed.
