This menu provides access to a menu containing a number of facilities for correcting LIF type images for the attenuation, spreading and diffusion of the illuminating light sheet.
This option offers correction for a cominbination of light sheet attenuation and divergence of nonparallel light rays. For good quality images this will generally be the most appropriate choice of correction.
This option offers enhanced correction for a cominbination of light sheet attenuation and divergence of nonparallel light rays. The correction procedure is nearly identical to that for [D Diverging, attenuating light rays] but includes an extra step to help remove any defects in the light sheet. The results produced are superior, but the calculation takes approximately twice as long.
This option allows for crossing light rays in a relatively simple manner. The correction works reasonably well with light from a large apperture source (such as a linear halogen photographic lamp), but is not as successful with light from a small source (such as a laser or arc lamp) where the light rays do not cross (in which case [D Simple correction for diverging light rays] is more appropriate).
This is the simplest correction which is valid only for parallel rays entering the field of view normal to the boundaries.
