Save as .GIF Image
Save as .GIF Image
This option provides the ability to write an image to a .GIF file. These
files are commonly used for storing images on bulliten boards and on the
World Wide Web as part of the HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language).
Write window from which buffer ?
The window may be saved from any valid buffer. The selected buffer will be
made the current output buffer.
Name of .GIF file to write window to ?
The name of the file (and optionally the path) to save the window to must
be specified.
Width of bit map (in square pixels) ?
DigImage will rescale the selected image to the size you wish to use
for the .GIF file. Most GIF viewers assume square pixels, while the Data
Translation frame grabber has pixels which are distinctly wider than they
are high. By rescaling the image, the original aspect ratio can be
preserved. This entry gives the width of the output image. The default
value is set so as to preserve the aspect ratio by duplication of columns
rather than removal of lines from the image.
Height of bit map (in square pixels) ?
This entry gives the height of the GIF file in pixels. The default
value is set so as to preserve the aspect ratio given the width specified
by the previous entry.
Write out Window or whole Screen ?
The contents of either a window within the chosen buffer or of the entire
screen (in which case this option is equivalent to 'S' without any
compacting) may be written out. If a Window is selected, then the normal
method and considerations for specifying a window are relevant. Help with
window specification is available through the H help option in the windows
submenu.
