Write Window to File
Write Window to File
Save a specific window to a raw .PIC, .TIF, .GIF or .BMP file. This window
may subsequently be reloaded using [L Load window from file] or [R Restore
buffer from file]. No compression is used on the data. For .TIF, .GIF and
.BMP the number of pixels rather than the aspect ratio are preserved (use
[C Save window to BMP file] or [G Save as GIF image] to preserve aspect
ratio).
Write window from which buffer ?
The window may be saved from any valid buffer. The selected buffer will be
made the current output buffer.
Name of file to write window to ?
The name of the file (and optionally the path) to save the window to must
be specified. If no extension is given, then .PIC will be assumed. The
format of the file produced will depend on its extension as follows:
.PIC raw
.TIF 8-bit uncompressed; number of pixels preserved
.GIF 8-bit (compressed); number of pixels preserved
.BMP 8-bit (uncompressed); number of pixels preserved
Write out Window or whole Screen ?
The contents of either a window within the chosen buffer or of the entire
screen (in which case this option is equivalent to 'S' without any
compacting) may be written out. If a Window is selected, then the normal
method and considerations for specifying a window are relevant. Help with
window specification is available through the H help option in the windows
submenu.
