Get Character From Another Buffer
Get Character From Another Buffer
This option may be used to import a character to the current font buffer
from another buffer. This importing allows fonts generated by other
packages (e.g. Windows 3.1) to be converted into the DigImage format. The
importing is achieved by converting an image within a window in a
particular buffer into a DigImage bit mask and then writing this to the
font buffer. Note that this option may also be used for copying or
adjusting characters already positioned in the chacter cells.
Buffer containing source character ?
This entry specifies the buffer which contains the image of the character
which is to be imported. Any DigImage buffer may be used. The buffer
selected is made the current output buffer.
Font buffer to which character to be copied ?
This entry specifies the buffer containing the font template to which the
character is to be copied. This buffer should have been initialised using
[I Initialise buffer for character cells] or [L Load font file to buffer].
Cursor Positioning: Place at top left of source character cell
The Cursor Positioning menu is invoked to choose the character from the
source buffer. The cursor should be positioned where the top left corner
of the character cell will be. Note that the character is defined by the
region of the buffer adjacent to the cursor which is set to an intensity
of 255. For further information about the cursor positioning menu, refer
to [H Help] within the menu.
Drag Font Character: Drag imported character to destination cell
After the cursor has been selected using the Cursor Positioning menu, and
converted into a bit map, the destination buffer is displayed and Drag
Font Charcter version of the cursor menu is started to enable the
character to be dragged to the desired position. For further information
about controlling the cursor, refer to [H Help] within the menu.
