Save Buffer as Font File

Save Buffer as Font File

This option allows the conversion of the contents of a frame buffer into a font file, thus enabling the font to be saved after it was editted.

Save which buffer as font file ?

The buffer containing the font to be saved should be entered. This buffer should contain the image originally set up by either [I Initialise buffer for character cells] or [L Load font file to buffer].

Save font as User font (in current directory) or as DigImage font ?

The font may be saved as a user font (<U>) to the current directory (or an explicit path) or as a DigImage font (<D>) to the %DigImage%\LUTs directory. If saved as a DigImage font, then a standard DigImage file name will be used and the font added to the Font Selection Menu.

{If font to be saved as User font}

Name of user font file (default extension .FNT) ?

The font will be saved to the file (and path) specified here. If no path is given, the font will be saved to the current directory. If no extension is given, then .FNT will be added.

{If font to be saved as DigImage font}

Save as New font or Replace existing font ?

If the font is being saved as a DigImage font, then it may either be added to the system as a new font (<N>) or replace an existing DigImage font (<R>).

{If replacing existing DigImage font} Font Selection Menu If an existing DigImage font is to be replaced, the Font Selection Menu is produced to specify which font is to be replaced.

{If new DigImage font}

Enter menu entry (including access letter) for new font

The menu entry, as it will appear in the Font Selection Menu should be entered here. The first character will be used as the access key for the font. There should be two spaces following this character before the name and/or description of the font. Note that DigImage will check to see if a font is already accessed by the requested character: if one is, the user will be given the option of replacing this font. The key character must be either a digit or an upper case letter.

The following entry exists in the Font Selection Menu: .70 Are you sure you wish to replace this font ?

A font with the access key specified already exists. Answering yes (<Y>) will replace the existing font/menu entry, while no (<N>) will return you to the parent menu.
