Rewind in Background
Rewind in Background
To increase the throughput of the particle tracking, DigImage is able to
reposition the video tape in preparation of the next acquisition sequence
by rewinding it in the background while processing the current group of
frame samples. This option allows specification of the speed at which the
VTR is to be rewound.
Background rewind: Slow, Medium, Fast, Very fast, Extremely fast or None ?
Choosing the rewind characteristics is a compromise between having the
VTR ready for the next group of frames and positional accuracy. Some of the
processing during the tracking process requires interrupts to be turned
off; this may cause difficulties with some slower PC/ATs if the computer
fails to respond to the VTR's frame strobe correctly due to the interrupts
being disabled for short periods. For most machines the medium (<M>)
or fast (<F>) speed rewind is appropriate. However, if difficulties with
the positioning are discovered, it may be necessary to decrease the rewind
speed (<S>), or suppress rewind until after all processing of the current
group (<N>).
