Video Image Source

Video Image Source

This option determines the source of the video images. Normally the images will be sourced from a video recorder, with the computer controlling the recorder to ensure the required image is captured at the required time. However, for some applications it may be desirable to process images which were acquired (and perhaps processed) at some previous time. The mechanism for achieving this is to read the images from the hard disk.

Images from Super vhs video, sequence of Files or Movie file ?

The images may be acquired from the AG7330 or AG7350 Super VHS recorder (<S>, the normal option), read from a sequence of files on the hard disk (<F>), or read from a [;TM: Movies] movie file (<M>).

{If images from file}

Numeric sequence in file Name or Extension ?

Specify whether the sequencing number is given by a three-digit file extension, or as the last four digits of the base file name.

{If numeric sequence in file name}

Base file name and extension ?

Specify the base name (maximum of four characters) with the required extension (eg. .PIC, .BMP or .TIF). A four digit numeric code starting from 0000 and increasing by 1 will be used to identify the source for each image. For example, if the files are called TEST0000.PIC, TEST0001.PIC, etc., then specify TEST.PIC, while JUN.TIF would give JUN0000.TIF, JUN0001.TIF etc.

{If numeric sequence in extension}

Base file name (numeric extension) ?

For a series of files the file names are base_name.xxx where base_name is the name specified at this prompt and xxx is a three digit sequence number (with leading zeros). The first file in the sequences is .000, followed by .001 for the second etc. The files may be in either raw or compressed form of .PIC, .BMP or .TIF.

{If images from a movie}

Name of movie file ?

Specify the name of the movie file containing the images. For a movie file, DigImage will automatically add a .MOV extension to the base name specified here. Note that for .MOV movie files the time step specified in [S Sample spacing] should match that of the images in the movie.
