The linear time code (LTC) counter obtains the current time by reading data recorded on the video tape. This data is recorded either at the time of making the recording, or subsequently using [R Record LTC data]. The data on the tape provides an absolute indication of the position of the tape, the accuracy of which is not changed by removing the tape or resetting the control pulse counter. For relative positioning of the tape, use [qT Move by specified time].
This option allows the linear time code data and associated eight digit user code to be recorded on audio channel 2 of the video tape. The time code may be recorded either at the same time as the video signal, or subsequently dubbed on after the video track has been laid down.
This search operation will find the specified absolute position on the tape. The search may be undertaken in either fast forward/rewind or shuttle modes.
This search operation will attempt to locate a section of tape identified by the eight digit user code recorded along with the linear time code.
This search operation will find the next section of tape having a different user code from the current section.
