Grab Frames at Specific Times
Grab Frames at Specific Times
Under this option, DigImage controls the SVHS VTR to grab a series of
frames to both onboard and offboard buffers. The frames are specified as
times relative to the current point. By moving the video tape forwards and
backwards, it is possible to capture frames in any order and at any spacing
(so long as the spacing is an even multiple of the field rate). While it is
not necessary to specify the frames in chronological order, it will
generally be faster to do so as DigImage will require fewer reverse winding
operations for chronological frames.
Time for buffer # ?
Buffers are acquired in buffer order, not chronological order. If N buffers
are to be acquired, then N times must be entered, starting from the time
for buffer 1 and repeating up to buffer N. The normal DigImage time format
of minutes:seconds is used (see the <shift><f1> general help for more
details).
Another frame buffer ?
After the acquisition time for each frame has been specified, this question
will be asked to determine if there are more frames to be specified (<Y>),
or if all the desired frames have been entered (<N>).
On completion Reposition tape or Leave ?
The answer to this question specifies the action to be taken once all the
frames have been acquired. The video tape may be either repositioned (R) to
the starting point of the sequence, or left (L) where it is after the last
frame has been grabbed.
