Record Linear Time Code Data
Record Linear Time Code Data
NOTE: This option is accessed either through [;VS Put start mark on tape]
or [;VFR Record linear time code data].
The linear time code (LTC) counter obtains the current time by reading data
recorded on the video tape. This data is recorded either at the time of
making the recording, or subsequently using [R Record LTC data]. The data
on the tape provides an absolute indication of the position of the tape,
the accuracy of which is not changed by removing the tape or resetting the
control pulse counter. For relative positioning of the tape, use [qT Move
by specified time].
This option allows the linear time code to be recorded (instead of audio
channel 2) after the video signal has already been recorded.
User code (up to eight digits) ?
In addition to the time signal, the LTC track contains a user specified
four byte code. This code may be used to indicate the experiment or
sequence number, for example. DigImage restricts the code to an eight digit
number. If fewer than eight digits are supplied, DigImage pads it out with
leading zeros. This entry specifies the value of the user code to be
recorded. The default value is the user code for the current tape position.
Time code for start of sequence ?
The time code may be specified to start from any nonnegative time. The
default value is the LTC for the current tape position.
Dub the time code on the audio track, or Record time code and video ?
The linear time code may be dubbed onto a video sequence already recorded
(<D>) or recorded simultaneously with the video (<R>).
Dub or Record for how long (0 => for ever) ?
This entry determines how long the dubbing or recording operation will
continue. A value of zero implies the recording is to continue until the
VTR is stopped through some other mechanism (eg. from the front panel, or
from the [;V: Video tape recorder control] menu. In all other cases the
dubbing/recording may be stopped early (compared with the specified period)
by pressing a key.
