Preface

Installation of DigImage may be divided into six relatively simple phases:

  1. Installing Microsoft language utilities (optional)
  2. Installing the frame grabber board
  3. Setting up the environment variables and RAM disk
  4. Installing the DigImage software
  5. Configuring DigImage
  6. Setting up the Panasonic AG-7330 or AG-7350 Super VHS video tape recorder.

We shall deal with these six phases in order.

This guide assumes that Microsoft Fortran has previously been installed on the computer. The installation procedure utilises the LINK.EXE command supplied with the Fortran (and other Microsoft languages) to build the executables required for a given choice of hardware. The LINK.EXE should be accessible on the MS-DOS PATH - refer to the MS-DOS manual and Fortran manual for details. If you do not currently have a copy of Microsoft Fortran, please contact DL Research Partners, informing us of your exact hardware/video combination, and we will supply you with the executable files already built.
