Research

Bipasha is a member of the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics in the High Energy Physics group

Her research interests lie at the precision frontier of particle physics. She uses the only existing first-principles nonperturbative approach to solve Quantum Chromodynamics known as lattice QCD. This, in practice, involves large-scale Monte-Carlo simulations of QCD path integrals where QCD action is discretised on a 4-dimensional Space-time grid with Euclidean time. Bipasha performs state-of-the-art calculations to extract properties of mesons with high precision, providing stringent tests of the Standard Model of particle physics in comparison with experiments at CERN, Fermilab, JLab, and other places. Her current research at DAMTP is focused on extracting masses and decay widths of meson resonances appearing in the scattering of rather lighter particles. She is a member of the HadSpec and HPQCD lattice collaborations.
