Mr Toby Wood
Career
- 2006-date: PhD student, University of Cambridge
- 2002-2006: Undergraduate in Mathematics, University of Cambridge
Research
Toby is a member of the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics, in the Astrophysical Fluid Dynamics group. His current research interests are
- Turbulent atmospheric dynamics -- the various angular transport mechanisms present in the Earth's middle atmosphere, and in the atmospheres of other astronomical objects.
- Coupling of plasma effects to atmospheric processes -- the role of magnetic fields in modifying large-scale dynamical mechanisms within atmospheres and gaseous interiors.
- Instabilities in magnetic fields and dynamo processes.
