Subject to availability, conference participants have the choice of accommodation in one of three Cambridge college locations. Please refer to the map below for location details. Note also that there is only limited availability for double occupancy rooms (see below).

Stephen Hawking Building

Located on West Road in West Cambridge and within a few minutes walking distance of the Centre for Mathematical Sciences. (This accommodation was built on the site of Stephen Hawking's former home.) While Gonville and Caius is itself one of Cambridge's oldest colleges, it offers this modern comfortable accommodation in a pleasant setting with good facilities and notable gardens. Participants will be accommodated in modern bedrooms with ensuite facilities.

On arrival, please report to the Porters' Lodge which is located at the West Road gatehouse in front of the building. Please note that accommodation is available on the evening of Sunday 3rd July for invited speakers and participants travelling from elsewhere.

St Edmund's College

Founded in 1896, St Edmund's College is now primarily a graduate College, although it also has a number of mature students reading for a first degree. Much of the accommodation is very modern and purpose-built. Its location is very convenient for the city centre, the West Cambridge site and the Centre for Mathematical Sciences.

Churchill College

Founded by Sir Winston Churchill in 1960, Churchill College has produced many outstanding scientists and academics in all fields, including over twenty Nobel Prize winners. It is set in an extensive 'green field' site on the western edge of Cambridge, across the road from the Centre for Mathematical Sciences. The accommodation here is particularly recommended for students, though a limited number of twin rooms for couples are also available.

Special Requirements

There are only a few double occupancy rooms available and almost nothing for those bringing their families. However, participants can make their own alternative arrangements for accommodation. There is a relatively efficient booking service for hotels and bed & breakfasts in Cambridge available at the Cambridge city website. We may be able to offer some limited assistance/advice.
