Supervision Information

If you're being supervised by me, then the general format I work on is: have work in my pigeon hole at the CMS by 5pm on the day previous to the supervision. If I get round to it, I'll have some model solutions prepared for you. The supervisions will be held in the CMS. Try to have a stab at all the questions, even if you can't get very far with some. Try to be familiar with all parts of the course you've been given so far before the supervision, so we can concentrate on your understanding, rather than your knowledge.

All the documents on this page are entirely my own work, and not to be reproduced without permission. E-mail me regarding access to the restricted pages. I also urge those with access to the documents not to show them to students who have not yet covered the material.

Cambridge Mathematics: Part III

I did have solutions to some of the Part III examples sheets here, but in retrospect, it's probably for the best if I don't make them publicly available. It makes it a little too tempting! However, if you're struggling with something, and want to ask a question, feel free to e-mail me. My area of expertise sits around analysis, geometry and mathematical physics. You're welcome to check out my Part III essay on Nonmodal Instabilities here. It is based on the application of theories from functional analysis to study the pseudospectra of certain operators that are of fundamental importance in the theory of turbulence.
