Miscellaneous Random Stuff

Bizarrely enough, this page has no coherent theme running through; the only thing that cements this page together is that I thought at some point it would be a good idea to include these things somewhere. Often these are attempts to publicise other web pages that I have come across...

Friends

For want of a better place to put it, here are some links to the pages of some of my friends...

Jerome Neufeld Experiments and theory on CCS and other geophysical problems in the ITG

Marcus Roper A range of great science at Berkeley...

Julia Wolf wrote the style file for this web-site (thanks!) and is now a Professor at Rutgers.

Some very useful links etc. can be found on Robert Whittaker's page. I am now hosting his journal's page, which is incredibly useful if you do maths in Cambridge but probably not otherwise.

MacRumors

Tips on when's a good (or bad) time to buy Mac hardware can be found at MacRumors

theyworkforyou.com

Ever wondered what your MP is up to, or whether you should vote for them next time around? If so, take a look at theyworkforyou.com where you can find out their voting record, how often they speak and check out their entry in the register of members' interests.

Michael Tomasky

For those who (like me) have an unhealthy interest in US politics, Mike Tomasky's blog at the Guardian is well worth keeping an eye on.

The Onion

Possibly the most telling social commentary available on our former colony across the pond, theonion.com gives a more accurate portrayal of the state of the union than any President would dare.
