Chess
I am a keen chess player and have been playing the game actively since my early days at secondary school. My current ECF grade is 146 and my FIDE rating is 1790. I play for the team of Pembroke College in the Cambridge College League, and I represent Oxford in the 4NCL.
I am the current (2012-2013) President of the Cambridge University Chess Club. In 2009-2010 I was the President of the Oxford University Chess Club, and it is speculated that I may be the first person to have been elected to both presidencies. On 9 March 2013 I captained the University of Cambridge team to victory in the 131st Varsity Chess Match at the Royal Automobile Club in London.

Cricket
I play cricket for the combined graduate team of Pembroke and Churchill Colleges. I have been elected captain of the team for the forthcoming season. Our detailed results for the 2012 season were as follows:
28th April - home vs. Wolfson/Downing, match abandoned without a ball being bowled.
16th May - home vs. Trinity/Trinity Hall, lost by 5 wickets (with 18 balls remaining); Devane 3(6) and 2-0-12-1.
24th May - home vs. Hughes Hall/Emmanuel, won by 3 wickets (with 4 balls remaining); Devane 4-0-9-2 and 6*(4).
27th May - home vs. ARM CC (declaration game), lost by 4 wickets; Devane 14(13) and 2-0-13-1.
31st May - home vs. Magdalene/Darwin (MCR League), won by 28 runs; Devane dnb and 2-0-4-2.
5th June - away vs. Queens' (MCR League), won by 6 wickets (with 10 balls remaining); Devane 4-0-21-1 and dnb.
7th June - away vs. St. John's/Corpus Christi, lost by 40 runs; Devane 3-0-37-1 and 0(2).
12th June - away vs. Jesus (MCR League), won by 2 wickets (with 3 balls remaining); Devane 3-0-16-0 and 1*(1).
18th June - home vs. Pembroke JP, match cancelled.
20th June - away vs. Perse School, won by 4 wickets (with 11 balls remaining); Devane dnp.
20th June - away vs. Remnants CC, won by 8 wickets (with 1 ball remaining); Devane 4-0-27-2 and dnb.
29th June - home vs. Wolfson/Downing (MCR League), lost by 21 runs; Devane 1-0-16-0 and 0(2).
16th July - away vs. Fen Ditton CC, won by 90 runs; Devane dnp.
22nd July - home vs. Sri Lankan Visitors XI, lost by 1 wicket (with 3 balls remaining); Devane dnb and 3-0-21-1.
24th July - home vs. Bursar's XI, lost by 60 runs; Devane 4-0-33-1 and 0(1).
1st August - home vs. Trinity/Trinity Hall (MCR League Semi-Final), won by 41 runs; Devane dnb and 3-0-19-1.
8th August - home vs. St. John's/Corpus Christi (MCR League Final), match abandoned without a ball being bowled.
Pembroke/Churchill thus finished as joint champions of the 2012 Cambridge MCR Cricket League. My own overall statistics for the season were as follows:
Batting: 7 innings, 24 runs, 29 balls faced, 5 wickets.
Bowling: 35 overs, 0 maidens, 228 runs conceded, 13 wickets.
