In fact, I've left Cambridge (finally) after a little over seven
years. I'm now working as a Research Fellow in the
Mechanical Engineering Department at the
University of Surrey. The
project I'm working on is a multimedia based system for teaching fluid
mechanics. In other words, pretty pictures. Watch this space for
further developments.
Until recently, I've been working in the Fluid Dynamics Lab in DAMTP, in the general area of Environmental Fluid Dynamics. Which means I'm interested in fluid flows which are stratified, rotating and/or turbulent. My particular project is Gravity Currents Over Topography (an awe inspiring topic if ever there was one). And if you think the gravity current above is nice, take a look at this experiment. At the moment, I'm writing up my PhD. Wish me luck.
