The Nonlinear Centre

Nonlinear Centre Seminars: Easter 2002

Jointly organised by DAMTP and DPMMS

Usually on Wednesdays at 3pm and 4.30pm in Meeting Room 4,

Centre for Mathematical Sciences, Wilberforce Road

A formatted version of this seminar list, as an A4 poster, is available here in postscript. Or here in gzipped postscript.

Seminars in the Dynamical Systems series will be preceded (on the same afternoon) by an Introductory Seminar intended for a wide audience and aiming to provide an introduction to the topic of the following talk. The Nonlinear Problems in the Applied Sciences series is intended to complement the Dynamical Systems seminars and encourage discussion of nonlinear problems from a range of scientific disciplines. Research students and undergraduates are particularly welcome to attend.

*Note that this first seminar will be held in Meeting Room 3, not Meeting Room 4 and will be at 3.30pm, preceded by an introductory seminar at 2pm.

*Thursday 2nd May Dynamical Systems seminar:  Etienne Ghys Some differential equations in the complex domain
(ENS, Lyon)  Introductory seminar at 2pm

Wednesday 15th May Nonlinear dynamics seminar:  Colin Rogers The nonlinear Schr"odinger equation and the geometry of spatial hydrodynamics
