Tall buildings in Cambridge: what do YOU think?

This is a record of a meeting that took place on 3 March 2010 to gather the views of ordinary citizens of Cambridge on whether there should be additional tall buildings in the City.

The meeting was organised by Cambridge Past, Present & Future in partnership with Cambridge City Council, Cambridgeshire Horizons, Cambridge University, Federation of Cambridge Residents Associations, and East of England RSA.

After an introduction by Robin Pellew, there were brief talks by

  • Professor Peter Carolin, David Emond and Kieran Perkins, with contributions also from Meredith Bowles
  • Ian Gilder
  • Sir Richard MacCormac

Before the participants divided into breakout groups, John Worthington gave a briefing on the four questions posed on the poster. There were 11 groups and each was led by a facilitator. A final plenary session then received reports from each group on their main conclusions. The meeting ended with a summary by John Worthington, and thanks to everybody for making it so successful.
