I am currently a PhD student at the University of Cambridge, working in the Astrophysical Fluid Dynamics Group under the supervision of Prof. Michael McIntyre and Prof. Douglas Gough.

Research Interests

I am currently studying dynamics of the solar interior. Specifically,

  • The dynamics of the solar tachocline -- angular momentum balance at the interface of the convection zone and radiative interior.
  • How this balance can be sustained by a confined internal magnetic field.
  • The dynamical processes that bring about this magnetic confinement.

I am also interested in

  • Turbulent atmospheric dynamics -- the various angular transport mechanisms present in the Earth's middle atmosphere, and in the atmospheres of other astronomical objects.
  • Coupling of plasma effects to atmospheric processes -- the role of magnetic fields in modifying large-scale dynamical mechanisms within atmospheres and gaseous interiors.
  • Instabilities in magnetic fields and dynamo processes.
