Research
James is a member of the High Energy Physics research group in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics. His current research is on the interplay between functions which parametrise proton structure (parton distribution functions) and physics beyond the Standard Model. Recently, he has become interested in faithful uncertainty propagation from experimental data using Bayesian methods.
Teaching
James has supervised the following courses as part of the mathematical tripos:
- Part IB Electromagnetism
- Part IB Complex Analysis
- Part II Principles of Quantum Mechanics
- Part II Further Complex Methods
- Part III Symmetries, Fields and Particles
Revision notes and handouts can be found on his personal website.
