Welcome to the web pages of the Biological Mechanics Group at the Department of Applied Mathematics & Theoretical Physics (DAMTP), University of Cambridge.
Research in this group examines the interaction of fluids with living organisms. This field of research covers two areas:
the flow of fluids inside living organisms,
such as in respiratory or cardiovascular systems
(physiological fluid dynamics)
the flow of fluids external to living
bodies, such as in swimming, flying or bioconvection
(zoological fluid dynamics)
