1.3  The Schmelz loop

Schmelz et al., [2001] presented a loop observed by CDS that was not isothermal, neither along the line of sight , nor along its axis.

Figure 10: [From Shmelz et al., 2001] CDS image in Si XII at 520.66 Å observed on 1998 April 20 at 20:54 UT. The 13 highlighted pixels along the relatively isolated loop on the southwest limb of the solar disk were chosen for more in-depth analysis.
