Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics

I am a physical oceanographer interested in the ocean dynamics and its role in the climate system. My research focuses in the deep and abyssal ocean circulation and how it contributes to the sequestration and redistribution of tracers, such as anthropogenic heat and carbon. I mostly employ large-scale hydrographic data and inverse methods to investigate the (yet poorly observed and modeled) deep ocean and its decadal variability.
