Paul LindenPFL@70 Monday 20 March 2017

Centre for Mathematical Sciences, Wilberforce Road, Cambridge

Paul Linden turns 70 in early 2017. To mark this happy event, and in celebration of Paul’s many contributions to fluid mechanics, we are holding a day of talks on Monday 20 March 2017 in CMS. The talks will span the recent research of his past students and postdoctoral researchers, in fields where his work has been particularly influential: internal waves; gravity currents; plumes; turbulent mixing; rotating stratified flows; building ventilation and experimental diagnostics. There will be opportunities to reflect on Paul's impact as colleague, mentor and friend during a formal dinner at Downing College on the evening of Monday 20 March, as well as more informally over lunch, coffee, tea and at a drinks reception after the last talk. The schedule for the day including talk titles can be downloaded here.
We hope that you will be able to join us.  It is important that everyone attending any part of this celebration registers as described belowAll registrants are welcome to refreshments and lunch during the meeting, and to attend the drinks reception at CMS after the last talk. There will be a Gala Dinner (with informal dress code) held in Downing College (19.00 for 19.30) for which there is a  charge of £70 for each registrant, reduced to £35 for student registrants.
