REGISTRATION AND ACCOMMODATION

This page contains information about registration, accommodation and payment procedures. Once you have read this, continue to the registration form.

LATEST NEWS: June 29

Registration is now closed.

Registration details

Only registered participants will be permitted to attend the lectures and other conference events. The registration fee of £200 (or $300 or E340) includes the cost of lunches, one banquet ticket and all other conference events.

The student registration fee has been reduced to £100 (or $150 dollars or E170). This will not include the lunches but does include the banquet and other events.

To register please submit the registration form and send the registration fee, accommodation fee and the cost of any extra banquet tickets using one of the methods described below. Extra banquet tickets may be ordered at £45 (or $68 or E76) per ticket. Your registration will not be completed until your payment is received. If you cancel your registration in advance you will be entitled to a full refund. However, a late cancellation will be subject to a charge imposed on us by the Colleges.

Note: Your registration will not be complete until you have paid in full. Since registration is almost full we urge you to pay promptly to secure your participation. If there is excessive demand, priority will be given to postdoctoral or senior researchers.

Accommodation details

Accommodation has been reserved at Robinson College and Trinity College. This is in the form of a bed-and-breakfast package for six nights (July 14-20) with the possibility of extension by one night at either end of the conference (July 13 and/or July 20) at the nightly rate quoted below.

  • Robinson College is a modern college built in the 1970's. It is situated to the west of the city centre and is a short walk along the Coton footpath from the Cavendish Laboratory, which is the venue for the conference. All rooms have en-suite toilet and bathroom/shower facilities. The six-night package, which includes bed and breakfast, is £342 (or $513 or E580). Each extra night (July 13 and/or July 20) costs £57 (or $85 or E97).
  • Trinity College is in the city centre and about a 20-minute walk from the conference venue in the Cavendish Laboratory. Most rooms have shared facilities. The six-night package, which includes bed and breakfast, is £180 (or $270 or E306). Each extra night (July 13 and/or July 20) costs £30 (or $45 or E51).
The limited number of double rooms at Robinson have now been allocated and all remaining accommodation is in single rooms. Those requiring double accommodation should book a room at a Hotel or Bed and Breakfast.

Participants seeking private hotel accommodation are advised to book early, since Cambridge has a large influx of tourists in the summer months. Accommodation information can be obtained at http://www.a1tourism.com/uk/cambridge.html
