Jiaru Li is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Astrophysics Group at the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics, University of Cambridge. His research interests include exoplanetary dynamics, protoplanetary disks, and the dynamical evolution of black holes embedded in active galactic nucleus disks. He primarily investigates these topics through N-body and hydrodynamical simulations, complemented by analytical modeling.

Jiaru received his bachelor's degree from the University of Toronto in 2017, where he worked with Professor Artur Izmaylov on quantum chemistry. He subsequently earned his Ph.D. in Astronomy from Cornell University in 2023 under the supervision of Professor Dong Lai. During his graduate studies, he also spent two years at Los Alamos National Laboratory as a CSES Student Fellow. Before joining Cambridge, he was a CIERA Postdoctoral Fellow at Northwestern University.

Since moving abroad to pursue his scientific adventures, Jiaru has lived and worked in five cities across three different countries. Before embarking on this journey, he was born and raised in his beautiful hometown of Hangzhou, China.
